What each toggle actually does
Six controls do most of the work in the aim panel. Learn what they change on the screen and the rest of the tuning is small choices.
- Silent aim — fires on the trigger pull, not on your aim. The crosshair does not visibly move onto the target, so the round lands without an on-screen correction. It is the cleanest to feel and the most obvious in a killcam replay, since the shot arrives with no aim path attached.
- Bone select — which body point the aim locks to. Chest is forgiving on hit registration and reads as a normal player under review. Head is a one-tap but stands out.
- Hitscan compensation — accounts for bullet travel time and drop at range. A value near 0.8 covers most mid-range rifle work. Push higher only if you sit on a scope past 300 metres.
- Humanization — adds micro-jitter and a short delay curve so the crosshair path looks like a person, not a servo. Keep this on for any lobby that is not private.
- FOV — the cone in degrees around your crosshair the aim will pull from. Smaller is subtler and harder to spot on spectate.
- Visible-only — engages targets your camera can actually see. Switching it off pulls through smoke, foliage and geometry, which is the fastest route to a report.
Preset one: Closet
The killcam-review-proof loadout. It reads as a skilled player in spectate, not a wall of red pixels.
- Silent aim: OFF
- Aim-assist smoothing: HIGH
- FOV: 4 to 6
- Bone: Chest
- Hitscan compensation: 0.8
- Visible-only: ON
- Humanization: ON
On a 256 square kilometre map with three teams pressing every objective, the closet preset gives you the trades you would already win, plus the ones you would have lost to a half-second reaction gap. Nothing a killcam can rewind and call out.
Preset two: Private lobby (rage)
This is for private matches with friends who know what you are running, custom servers, or offline testing. Never for a public queue.
- Silent aim: ON
- FOV: 90+
- Bone: Head
- Prediction: ON
- Visible-only, humanization, smoothing: OFF
The private-lobby preset will get you kicked within a match or two on any 100-player Wardogs public server, and BULKHEAD’s EAC reports feed into the ban queue. Save it as a separate profile so you cannot load it by accident before you press Find Match.
Tuning by weapon class
The closet numbers work as a base. From there, small tweaks per class:
- DMR and sniper — hitscan compensation 0.9 to 1.0, FOV 3, bone chest. The aim already reads calm at those numbers.
- Assault rifle — hitscan compensation 0.75, FOV 5, humanization at the middle notch. Recoil pull-down eats most of the visual work.
- SMG and shotgun — FOV 7, bone chest, smoothing one notch lower. Close-range fights happen before humanization can fake a clean track.
If a public lobby ever feels sticky (aim visibly snapping, or a spectate replay that reads wrong), roll FOV back by two and drop smoothing another step. A slightly worse day is cheaper than a ban wave. Our take on how safe the loader actually is covers the detection side, and the external vs internal breakdown explains why the aim path behaves the way it does. Current detection posture lives on the status page.
